Cliff Curtis is one of Aotearoa’s most acclaimed actors and producers. His screen career spans international blockbusters and independent films, with standout performances in Once Were Warriors, Whale Rider, The Dark Horse, Doctor Sleep, and Avatar: The Way of Water.
In 2004, he co-founded Whenua Films, dedicated to supporting Māori and indigenous storytelling. The company has produced award-winning works including Eagle vs Shark, Boy, and Two Cars, One Night.
Curtis is recognised globally for his versatility and depth as an actor, while remaining deeply committed to uplifting Māori voices and perspectives on the world stage.
