Tyrone Ohia FDINZ (Ngāti Pūkenga, Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngā Pōtiki) is the Founder and Creative Director of Extended Whānau, a Tāmaki Makaurau-based design studio at the forefront of contemporary Māori design and visual communications.

His work spans brand identity, exhibition design, publications, and large-scale cultural projects, always grounded in a commitment to making te ao Māori (the Māori world) visible and boldly expressive. Landmark projects include the visual identity for Toi Tū Toi Ora: Contemporary Māori Art at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, the identity for Matariki as Aotearoa's first indigenous public holiday, and the brand for the Wairau Māori Art Gallery.

Tyrone is a Fellow of the Designers Institute of New Zealand and a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI). He won the Gerard Reid Award for Best Book, Best Illustrated Book, and Best Typography at the 2023 PANZ Book Design Awards.
