Zena Elliot is an Interdisciplinary artist, creative researcher and educator who works in painting, sculpture, carving, installation, and sound art. She was raised in Te Teko, Eastern Bay of Plenty, Aotearoa, New Zealand.
Her current toi practice is Mauri ohooho and Mauri Ora-centred, advocating for the inclusivity of diverse, intersectional identities. Elliot's artworks explore notions of Māori identity and culture, gender fluidity, Indigenous diaspora, and Indigenous futurism through visual storytelling.
